\u201cThe party is over. Everybody left, it is all emptyness. I started to feel afraid.\u201d<\/h3><\/div>
<\/div>[vc_column_text item_animation=”transition.slideDownBigIn”]In the field of different types of phobias there are those in which there is an irrational and exacerbated fear towards ex-ternal situations; this is the case of\u00a0kenophobia<\/strong>, which refers to the\u00a0fear of emptiness<\/strong>. For people with kenophobia, empty spaces are scary; they feel a totally uncontrollable feeling of anguish, either when exposed to empty spaces or when thin-king about them. Among the emotional symptoms are feelings of anger, fear, sadness and even guilt.<\/span><\/p>\n

People who suffer will live in a house full of things, filling all the gaps gives the phobic person the feeling of control. An open space can mean empty and be alone;\u00a0this phobia is closely associated with the fear of loneliness<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The piece begins with a great party, full of joy. Soon it co-mes to an end, people leave and the emptiness takes over the guests, they are alone, and they feel fear. Starting from this loneliness,\u00a0the emotional instability of each character is reflected<\/strong>. We use the insecurities of each dancer and try to\u00a0redirect them to get an optimistic message to the viewer<\/strong>:\u00a0soon another party will arrive and the void will be filled.<\/span><\/p>\n

50 minute piece premiered in November 2019 at Gazteszena, Donostia. The work is part of the 13th Notebook of Recommended Dance Shows<\/em> (elaborated by the Ballet, Dance and Movement Art Commission of La Red) and was selected in Danza a Escena 2021).<\/span><\/p>\n
